Chemical well rehabilitation

By undertaking the well rehabilitation process regularly and in a systematic manner, where the methodology is tailored to the incrustation type, the impacts of well ageing are dramatically reduced. The interval between each rehabilitation depends on the following factors:

  • hydrochemical composition of the raw water
  • well yield over the period of time concerned
  • the operation of the well, switching on / off rhythm and the location of water level with respect to the upper edge of the screen
  • the construction of the well (e.g. annular sealings and joints of the casing as to avoiding the entrance of infiltration water)
  • the thoroughness and efficiency of the past well rehabilitations

When the well yield decreases by 10 % investigations should begin to collect data for the well rehabilitation process. The sooner a well rehabilitation is carried out, the better the results will be achieved at a lower cost.
