Sustainability of well rehabilitations

By undertaking the well rehabilitation process regularly and in a systematic manner, where the methodology is tailored to the incrustation type, the impacts of well ageing are dramatically reduced. The interval between each rehabilitation depends on the following factors:

hydrochemical composition of the raw water
well yield over the period of time concerned
the operation of the well, switching on / off rhythm and the location of water level with respect to the upper edge of the screen
the construction of the well (e.g. annular sealings and joints of the casing as to avoiding the entrance of infiltration water)
the thoroughness and efficiency of the past well rehabilitations

When the well yield decreases by 10 % investigations should begin to collect data for the well rehabilitation process. The sooner a well rehabilitation is carried out, the better the results will be achieved at a lower cost.
